Chartwells Free Meal Pick-up Program (Updated)

 Chartwells Free Meal Pick-up Program:

Updated: September 1, 2020

Starting with the beginning of school in the remote model on 9/14, lunch and breakfast for five days per week will be available on distribution schedule (M, W, and F from 10-noon)  at Easthampton High School and Maple School.   This is for children 0 – 18 years.

Updated: August 31, 2020

A national waiver allows us to continue the summer meals program for all families until school starts on September 14.  Lunch and breakfast for seven days per week are distributed at Easthampton High School, Maple School, and Pleasant Green Park on Monday (meals for M and T), Wednesday (meals for W and Th), and Friday (meals for F, Sat., and Sun.) from 9-11 a.m.  There is no cost and it is open to all Easthampton children.
Starting with the beginning of school on 9/14, lunch and breakfast will only be available for families that qualify for free or reduced lunch. Distribution will continue at Easthampton High School and Maple School on the same distribution schedule as the summer program (M, W, and F from 9-11 a.m.).   Eligibility for free or reduced-price meals will be determined based on family income unless the national waiver is again extended.
A student listed on the state’s confidential direct certified data base, to which the schools have access, automatically qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.  You will receive a notification from the Business Office if your student was directly certified in the next couple of weeks.  There is no need to fill out an application if you received a notification that your student has been directly certified.
If your student is not listed in the state’s direct certified data base, your family must fill out an application every school year to receive benefits, absent the waiver being extended.  However, the eligibility status of your student had last school year (prior to the shut-down) will apply until October 1, 2020 to allow time for the necessary paperwork to be filed and processed.

Location and Methods of meal distribution:

Please pull to the back of the Easthampton High School building and remain in your vehicle.  Someone will deliver your meals to your car.

If you are unable to pick up meals and would like them delivered to your home, please call 413-575-1565. We will need to know the number of children and your address when you call.

A volunteer will deliver the meals to your front door. The volunteer will knock or ring your bell and then leave the meals at your door. Please remain in your home until the volunteer has returned to their vehicle. If you are available to volunteer to bring meals to homes around Easthampton at least one morning per week, please call the number above.
